Join Rosie for a Fun Weekend Get-a-Way, beginning on Friday evening from 6pm to 9pm,
when we will come together to cut fabric for "Country Faces Christmas Sampler"
In addition, Myra Mahy, Designer and Owner of Country Faces will be in attendance to share her expertise on assembling this wonderful, whimsical Quilt. She will also bring in samples of her other patterns to share.
This will be Pot Luck and you can bring a Main Dish or Salad. We will supply the dessert! You will be asked what you plan to bring via e-mail as the class draws nearer.
On Saturday, we will meet at 10am and work thru the day until 4pm. We will begin sewing.
Coffee & Juice and Rolls on Saturday and Sunday, plus Lunch on Saturday will be included in the price of the Mini Retreat. We will be bringing in a Box Lunch from Marie Calendars. I will e-mail you for your choice of sandwich as the class draws nearer. Water and Soft Drinks are available for purchase in our classroom.
On Sunday, we will meet at 11am to continue making this wonderful, whimsical quilt.
Coffee, Orange Juice, Rolls will be served in the morning. We will sew the afternoon away, until 4pm. You may wish to bring a Sack Lunch for later in the afternoon.

Pattern will be given to you when you sign up so that you have your supply list
and will be able to choose your fabric before the class begins.
Button Packet will be issued in class.

If you already happen to own the book, then class fee is $10.00 (you must have a copy of the book!)
You will have the option of making either a
Lap Quilt 61 ½ x 78”, Double 78” x 94 ½” or Queen 94 ½ x 111”
Fabric requirements and Cutting instructions will be handed out when you sign up for the class.
You will be using a Background-LIGHT print, and a MEDIUM PRINT in the color of your choice.
(see the photo – appears tat the designer used ONE Multi Color print for her MEDIUM print.

March 2009 Class
'Stained Glass'

Time: 10am - 3pm
Cost: $15.00
(Includes the book – "Turning Twenty Simply Sashed
If you already happen to own the book, then the Class Fee will be $10.00. (You must have a copy of the book)
You will have the option of making either a Crib Quilt, Throw, Queen or King Size Quilt
Fabric requirements and Cutting instructions will be handed out when you sign up for the class.
You will be using assorted hand-dyed or Batik Fat Quarters if you wish. But you can choose what ever you wish!
You will need 3 1/2 yards of black for sashing and binding.
Backing and batting can be purchased after your quilt top is completed.

April 2009 Class
'Oopsie Daisy!'

Time: 10am - 3pm
Cost: $18.00
The Pattern while will be given to you when you sign up, along with the Supply List.
If you already happen to own the pattern, then the Class Fee will be $10.00. (You must have a copy of the pattern)
You will have the option of making either a Wall Hanging, Twin Size or Queen Size
Fabric requirements and Cutting instructions will be listed on the pattern.
I suggest that you choose your Border Print, Backing and Binding Prints after your top is completed.
This pattern includes some EASY Applique...Sandy will be in class to teach some easy
techniques for those of you who need help.
I Suggest that you do not cut the applique pieces until you come to class....you will not be needing them right away!
Suggested Tools: Easy Angle and Companion Angle - Read the pattern over and you can decide if you need these.

Seasons Greetings to All Our Happy Sewists!
Can you believe it’s time to mark our calendars and prepare for our Sewing and Embroidery Club Classes for 2009! Our first sessions are scheduled for Saturday, January 10th, 10:00a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for Sewing Club, and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. for Embroidery Club.
Due to the great success and popularity of our November 2009 Club Sit n’ Sew, we have decided to have a Sewing Club Sit n’ Sew every other month on Club Day. The first Club Sit n’ Sew will be February 14th from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Below is a summary of club information and dates. Please read thoroughly.
Rosie’s Calico Cupboard Sewing Club
Free membership for two years if you purchased your sewing or embroidery machine at Rosie’s; $50.00 per year all others. 11 classes are scheduled for 2009. (Sign-up required. Please call the shop at 619-697-5758 or sign up at the shop.) Your membership entitles you to 20% off notions in our Notions Room, except thread, books, and patterns on club dates only.
The latest sewing and quilting techniques applicable to all machine types will be demonstrated every other month. Bring something to share that you have finished or a project in progress. If you have a problem that you would like help or advice, bring that too. Do not bring your machine to these sessions. These classes are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on 1/10, 3/14, 5/9, 7/11, 9/12, and 11/14/2009. Please sign up and mark your calendars.
Sewing Club Sit n’ Sews are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on 2/14, 4/11, 6/13, 8/8, and 10/10/2009. You will be bringing your sewing machine and all supplies needed to work on projects of your choice. We will be there to help you with any sewing problems, instruction, or help you may need. Please signup and mark your calendars.
Rosie’s Calico Cupboard Embroidery Club
Free membership for two years for customers who purchased their embroidery machine at Rosie’s. The club is open to all other embroidery machine owners for $50.00 for all six classes, or $15.00 individually. (Sign-up required. Please call the shop at 619-697-5758 or sign up in person. I will be providing you with your supply list by e-mail after registration.) Membership entitles you to 20% off embroidery designs, stabilizers, and embroidery thread on club dates only. Meetings are from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. 1/10, 2/14, 3/14, 4/11, 5/9, and 6/13. Please sign up at the shop or call 619-697-5758 and mark your calendars.
Our January project will be a whole cloth quilt taken from Jeanine Twigg’s Embroidery Machine Essentials Book 3. This is a great gift project that won’t take you forever to complete. I have my sample hanging in the store for your inspection, or you can see a picture of it on Rosie’s website www.rosiescalicocupboard.com <http://www.rosiescalicocupboard.com/> .
If you don’t have an embroidery machine and would like to see what we are doing, you are invited to attend any class for free to observe, or if you would like to participate in the class using one of our floor models, just sign up and let us know that you are a new to machine embroidery and would like to try it out.
