Long Arm Quilters

THANK YOU ALL.....you have helped to put a smile on a childs face!

Hello Ms. Gonzalez,

We got your email address off of your website. We wanted to take a memento humbly thank you for the beautiful quilt that was given to our son when he was admitted to the Oncology Unit at Children's Hospital.

On October 5th, our seven month old son, Samuel John Tollefson, was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. The doctors discovered this malignant tumor around his spine. Over the previous week he had lost motor function in his legs and trunk. It was because the tumor was growing into the spinal canaland compressing Samuel's spinal cord. After emergency surgery, by the Neurological team, to decompress the cord, Samuel was soon admitted to Oncology to begin Chemotherapy.

When the nurse came into his room, she was carrying this beautiful handmade quilt. She had no intention of doing an exam, poking, proding, or giving meds. She simply came in to say hello, welcome us with this quilt and tell us they were going to take good care of Samuel.

While we have a long road ahead to battle this cancer, your bright, colorful, cozy quilt reminds us that there is hope. Each day is a gift. This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad init. (Psalm 118:24). We thank God for people like you who use their time, talent and resources to help those who are in need and hurting, to brighten their day.

We have attached a picture of Samuel with his quilt.

Thank you,

Kevin, Amy and Samuel Tollefson
